We get a lot of questions about how we turn sugarcane into raw sugar, so we decided to make a video to show how it all happens.
Our short video takes viewers through the sugar supply chain, from paddock to ship. It also explains the many steps in the sugar manufacturing process.
As Australia’s largest raw sugar miller, Wilmar Sugar Australia processes about 15 million tonnes of sugarcane each year to produce more than two million tonnes of raw sugar.
About 85 per cent of the raw sugar produced at our eight Queensland factories is shipped to markets across the world. Some is sent to our joint-venture refineries in Mackay, Melbourne and New Zealand where it is further refined into CSR Sugar and Chelsea Sugar products.
