China are making by far the most affordable electric cars in the world, and many Western companies have opened manufacturing plants in the country.
So why can’t the Western world have cheap electric cars? Rich takes a look at what’s on offer in the Chinese market, and whether these offerings could reach the UK or the US.

Biggest problem is you need your car to be street legal in UK so you can't just buy Chinese ev in UK. Which is a shame as I love to buy cheap Chinese ev ,but politics against china etc.
Chinese build quality is crap.. the ONLY exception is when its build in china by a western company
5 is Yema T70
Electric cars are a scam, as are all cars. We need better public transportation that is run on computer models for maximum efficiency. Private cars should be only a last resort.
Why did we only get the imported price for the Changli? All the other cars you just gave the "in China" cost. Come on!
wow what a shill! save the planet huh, i guess the sun not coal, nuclear , or gas charge that thing. SMH, not to mention the amount of earth to be excavated for just one battery. almost 200 tons to get all the rare earths to make them. DO YOUR RESEARCH OR STOP LYING ALREADY.
The USA's car industry will do everything to stop the imports of good affordable cars! And the govt loves it, because high prices mean more tax revenues!
1:26 "they can improve local pollution" that is a load of bull crap don't anyone know how electric car batteries are made?
I’d love to subscribe but he’s so fukkin annoying. Good content, ludicrous delivery
The fundamental problem with electric cars is that most are built to be showpieces for people's egos. "I bought an electric car, aren't I a great person? Oh, and it weighs 6 tones and cost more than your house because I can afford it!" Arrogant idiocy!
Efficiency is what an electric car should be about, especially as physics dictates battery technology will never be even remotely as energy dense as fossil fuels. So bring on the cheap Chinese EV's… as far as I can tell the only western company trying to make an EV the right way is Aptera.
